Swami's Beach is located in the South Coast region of California, within Cardiff State Beach and the Swamis State Marine Conservation Area. This gently sloping site consists of flat terrain.

Swamis Beach biodiversity survey overview

Swami's Beach is dominated by a mixture of consolidated bedrock and sandy beach, and the area surrounding the site is comprised of a mixture of consolidated bedrock and sandy beach. The primary coastal orientation of this site is southwest.

Swamis Beach long-term monitoring overview

Long-Term Monitoring Surveys at Swami's Beach were established in 2017 and are done by  National Park Service staff (Cabrillo National Monument) and partners. Long-Term MARINe surveys currently target the following species: Chthamalus/Balanus (Acorn Barnacles), Pollicipes (Goose Barnacle), Mytilus (California Mussel), Red Algal Turf, Phyllospadix (Surfgrass), and Pisaster (Ochre Star).
